One Earth – One Future: A Global Art Project for Elementary Students

Welcome to Guardians of the Earth!

This is a global digital art project for 4th and 5th grade elementary students (ages 9-10) from around the world. The project focuses on Sustainable Development Goal 15: Life on Land, which emphasizes protecting our planet’s biodiversity, forests, and wildlife.

Objective: 
Through this project, young learners become stewards of the environment by creating collaborative digital artwork with international peers. Together, they will explore and celebrate local wildlife and ecosystems, fostering a deeper connection with nature and global responsibility. 

Key Project Information

Target Audience: 

  • Elementary students in 4th and 5th grade (ages 9-10) from schools around the world. 

Project Dates: 

  • Enrollment Ends: March 8th, 2025 

  • Project Start Date: March 9th, 2025 

  • Project End Date: April 12th, 2025 

  • Final Presentation: April 13th, 2025 

Project Phases: 

  • Phase 1: Introduction to SDG 15 and Life on Land  

  • Phase 2: Digital Art Skills Workshop  

  • Phase 3: Collaborative Art Exchange with International Partners  

  • Phase 4: Completing Collaborative Art  

  • Phase 5: Final Presentation & Global Nature  

Key Project Information

Planet Made of Plastic

School coordinators will register their students for the project using the registration form. Once enrolled, each student will be paired with a partner from another country.

1. Join the Project:

Students will create digital artwork featuring local wildlife and ecosystems using simple digital tools.

2. Create Digital Art:

Students exchange and complement each other's drawings with their international partner. This represents how ecosystems across the world coexist and depend on one another. 

3. Collaborate Across Borders:

The final collaborative artwork will be showcased in the Global Nature Gallery on the WorldEd website, where students can present their work to a global audience.

4. Share and Showcase:

Why Participate? 

Students will connect with peers from different countries, building cross-cultural friendships and learning about different ecosystems.

Global Collaboration:

Through digital artwork, students will explore their creativity while reflecting on the importance of protecting life on land.

Creative Expression:

Students will learn how they can protect local wildlife and contribute to global biodiversity efforts.

Environmental Stewardship:

Each participating school will receive a WorldEd Foundation Digital Badge, and every student will be awarded a Certificate of Achievement.

Student Privacy: 
We take student privacy very seriously. No images or names of minors will be shared online without explicit permission from parents or school coordinators. Only the collaborative digital artwork will be displayed publicly along with initials and country of origin.
