About the Project
The Global Food & Wellness Scholars Program is designed connect students in the Netherlands and Turkey through an international academic experience focused on nutrition, food systems, sustainability, and youth innovation.
Through a fully funded 18-week high school academic course and four live Global Project Labs, students will collaborate across borders to design solutions for healthier, safer, and more sustainable food futures.
Why This Matters
Food systems face growing global challenges, from sustainability to public health and access to nutrition.
Young people will inherit these challenges, but they must also be equipped to help solve them.
This program equips students to explore these issues through international collaboration and real-world problem solving.
Students move beyond theory to design solutions and contribute to the future of food and wellness.

About the Program
The Global Food & Wellness Scholars Program combines academic learning with international project-based collaboration.
Students complete:

an 18-week accredited high school academic course: Nutrition, Food, and Wellness
-
four live international Global Project Labs
-
a final virtual international showcase
Program Highlights
Accredited Learning
Students complete a 0.5-credit elective through WorldEd School.
Global Collaboration
Students collaborate with peers from another country during live interactive sessions.
Project-Based Innovation
Students design SMART projects addressing food, nutrition, wellness, or sustainability challenges in their communities.
International Showcase
Students present their ideas to educators, donors, families, and international guests.

Global Project Labs
Throughout the program, students participate in four live Global Project Labs designed to help them apply what they are learning to real-world challenges.

Lab 1 — Problem Discovery & SMART Goal Design
Students identify a local food or wellness challenge and define a SMART project goal.

Lab 2 — Project Design & Planning
Students develop solutions, action plans, and impact strategies.

Lab 3 — Peer Feedback & Refinement
Students receive international peer feedback and strengthen their projects.

Lab 4 — Showcase Preparation
Students finalize presentations and prepare for the international showcase.
Full Scholarships for 30 Students
Students will be nominated through participating schools and selected through a joint review process led by WorldEd Foundation.
The program will provide a maximum of:

15 scholarships for students in the Netherlands

15 scholarships for students in Turkey

What Students Will Gain

WorldEd Global Food & Wellness Showcase
At the conclusion of the program, students will present their projects during a live international virtual showcase.
Projects may focus on:

nutrition awareness

sustainable food choices
-
youth wellness campaigns
-
food access solutions
The showcase celebrates youth innovation, collaboration, and global citizenship.
