A Look Ahead at the Sustainable Consumption Workshop 2026
At WorldEd Foundation, we don’t believe in learning for learning’s sake. We believe education should inspire action—and that’s exactly what our Sustainable Consumption Workshop 2026 is designed to do.
This isn’t your average school program. It’s a 3-month journey where students aged 13–17 step out of the role of learners and into the role of leaders, taking on some of the world’s most pressing challenges:
Fast Fashion
Food Waste
Single-use Plastics
And the most powerful part? These are real projects, developed and implemented by students in real schools, with measurable community impact.
Why Now? Why This?
In a world facing intersecting climate, equity, and consumption crises, we believe that young people aren’t just the leaders of tomorrow—they’re the change agents of today. But too often, school curricula don’t reflect the urgency or complexity of the world students are inheriting.
The Sustainable Consumption Workshop fills that gap. It’s not about reading case studies—it’s about creating them. Students design and launch their own sustainability initiatives in their school communities, from organizing swap shops to building composting systems to redesigning plastic use policies.
Built on Innovation and Inclusion
What makes this workshop special is our approach:
Student-led and peer-supported
Hands-on and practical
Guided by the principles of human rights and climate justice
Culturally adaptable for global implementation
And with schools participating from the Netherlands and beyond, students not only act locally but learn to think globally.
From Awareness to Action—with Results
Every partner school and every student leave this workshop with more than a certificate—they leave with a completed sustainability project, a stronger voice, and the data to show what they’ve achieved.
We measure:
Project reach and school engagement
Behavior changes within participating communities
Student reflections and learning outcomes
Long-term adoption of sustainable practices in schools
In 2024, we saw students across continents launch eco-campaigns, reduce waste in cafeterias, and even pitch their ideas to local officials. And 2026 will be e ven bigger.
Join Us in Making It Happen
We’re currently seeking sponsors, school partners, and mentors who believe in this mission and want to invest in youth-led climate solutions.
If your organization values sustainability, education, or corporate social responsibility, we’d love to collaborate. Let’s create real impact—in real schools, with real outcomes.
