At just 14 years old, Kiran Flora is already making a meaningful impact through her volunteer work with the WorldEd Foundation. A bright and passionate Grade 10 student from Waterloo, Ontario, Kiran serves as one of our Event Planning and Coordination Interns, bringing fresh ideas, dedication, and a deep commitment to our mission.

“I enjoy volunteering for the WorldEd Foundation because I believe access to education is both important and life-changing,” says Kiran. “Also, I love learning new things, and volunteering for an organization that works to provide access to education worldwide is a perfect fit.”

From supporting the planning of workshops to helping coordinate events that connect young people across borders, Kiran’s involvement is not just about giving back — it's also about growing forward. She highlights the opportunity to meet people from all over the world as one of the most rewarding aspects of her role, expanding her global perspective and building new friendships.

Beyond her internship, Kiran is a talented musician, currently preparing for her Grade 6 Royal Conservatory of Music piano theory and performance certification. She also plays violin in her school’s orchestra — proof that she’s a well-rounded learner with a love for both the arts and advocacy.

When asked what global issue she's most passionate about, Kiran shared a thoughtful response:

“I believe that access to education is a fundamental human right, but so many girls and women around the world are still denied the opportunity because of poverty, discrimination, conflict, or cultural norms. Education gives girls the tools to think critically, speak up for their rights, and make smarter life choices.”

Kiran’s advice to other young people is simple, yet powerful: “Find something that interests you and that you have a passion for, and just go for it. You won’t regret volunteering, but you might regret missing out on great opportunities to learn and grow.”

We’re incredibly proud to have Kiran as part of the WorldEd family. She represents the kind of globally aware, socially conscious young leader we aim to uplift through our programs.

Thank you, Kiran!
