What we eat, how our food is produced, and whether communities have access to safe and nutritious food are some of the most important challenges of our time.

From rising rates of diet-related illnesses to growing concerns about sustainability and food security, today's young people will inherit a world that demands innovative thinking, collaboration, and leadership.
Yet too few students have access to educational experiences that help them understand these challenges and empower them to become part of the solution.
At WorldEd Foundation, we believe education should do more than teach students about the world—it should equip them to improve it.
That belief is why we are launching the Global Food & Wellness Scholars Program.
A New Kind of International Learning Experience
The Global Food & Wellness Scholars Program is an innovative international initiative that will bring together 30 high school students from the Netherlands and Turkey through a fully funded educational experience.
Students will complete an accredited 18-week Nutrition, Food, and Wellness elective through WorldEd School while participating in four live Global Project Labs designed to help them tackle a shared question:
How do we create healthier, safer, and more sustainable food futures for our communities?
Throughout the program, students will collaborate across cultures, explore global and local food challenges, and design practical projects that can positively impact their communities.
The program will culminate in an international showcase where students present their ideas to educators, families, partners, and supporters.
Why the Netherlands and Turkey?
The Netherlands and Turkey offer two unique and complementary perspectives on food, nutrition, and sustainability.
The Netherlands is globally recognized for innovation in food systems, sustainability, and public health.
Turkey contributes rich food traditions, strong agricultural heritage, and valuable perspectives on nutrition, community wellbeing, and evolving food systems.
By bringing students from these two countries together, we are creating an opportunity for meaningful cross-cultural learning and collaboration around issues that affect us all.
Because healthier and more sustainable food futures cannot be built by one country alone.
They require global cooperation and local action.
Why This Matters
Today's students are tomorrow's policymakers, entrepreneurs, scientists, educators, and community leaders.
If we want a healthier, more sustainable future, we must invest in young people now.
The Global Food & Wellness Scholars Program is more than a scholarship initiative.
It is an investment in:
future innovators,
global citizenship,
youth leadership,
and the next generation of changemakers.
